VSECU Hosts Four Shred Events

vsecuVermont State Employees Credit Union had more than 300 people who braved the wind and rain to take advantage of free shredding at VSECU’s Shred Saturday on Oct. 16. SecurShred brought their mobile shredding trucks and shredding professionals to four locations: VSECU’s Berlin and Williston branches, the Area Agency on Aging for Northeastern Vermont in St. Johnsbury, and Formula Ford in Rutland. While VSECU has brought Shred Saturday to Berlin and Williston twice before, it was very exciting to be able to bring this service to St. Johnsbury and Rutland as well.

With the help of VSECU, SecurShred shredded thousands of pounds of confidential material for attendees as they dropped it off and showed them, via camera and monitor, the material being destroyed.

“VSECU would like to thank SecurShred and drivers Gerry, David, Brian and Tom for doing such great work,” said Lynette Kemp, VSECU’s communications coordinator and organizer of the Shred Saturday event. “The drivers were wheeling the bins to the cars before the people had even turned off their ignitions. They were also very courteous and friendly and patiently explained the shredding process as many people were curious about how the trucks operated.”

VSECU plans to have another Shred Saturday in the spring.
