NEFCU’s 14th Shred Fest – A BIG Success!
June 04, 2009 in SecurShred in the News
On May 16th , over 300 local residents took part in New England Federal Credit Union’s 14th Shred Fest. Each year NEFCU partners with SecurShred, a local NAID Certified Shredding company, to help members protect themselves from identity theft, FREE of charge.
Documents containing social security numbers, bank account and credit card information, and other personal documents, all of which can be misused if it falls into the wrong hands, were securely shredded. For many, the highlight of the day was safely watching their documents destroyed right before their eyes using SecurShred’s camera system installed on all of their mobile shredding trucks.
By the end of the day, 2 large shredding trucks will filled to capacity, and a third truck was needed to handle the over flow. In total over 20,000 pounds of paper documents were securely destroyed.
Most wondered what was done with all the paper once it was shredded. The Answer: All paper shredded by SecurShred is Recycled through our Secure Recycling process. To learn more about our recycling process click here
